B-Bop - wheelchair parking only!

B-Bop came to Westside Animal Hospital on December 6, 2004.  He had just been hit by two cars in a row.  B-Bop was in a lot of pain and his owner was understandably devastated by what she had just witnessed.

B-Bop was immediately admitted into hospital, put onto intravenous fluids and given heavy duty pain medications.  His most serious injury was to his spinal cord.  We were wondering if he would ever be able to walk again.  After several days of intensive treatment and care, he remained paralysed in his hind end.

One month after his injury, B-Bop was fitted with a "doggie wheelchair" right here in the Westside front office!  It was quite an emotional moment as we all witnessed his very first steps.  Although our hopes for him walking on his back legs were never met - he certainly knows how to put his front legs to work when he speeds around in his new cart.
