Doctor

  • Dr. Michael Bondar , BSc. DVM


    Dr. Bondar graduated from the University of Toronto in 1988 with an Honour's Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. He then graduated from the University of Guelph with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1993. He has been the owner of Westside since 1997. His special interests include cardiology and soft tissue surgery. He is married with two children, Joshua and Abby.  Dr. Bondar also shares his home with a beautiful standard poodle name Cari.

  • Charlene Somer , DVM


    After completing a bachelor of Science, Dr. Somer continued her education at the University of Guelph obtaining her degree in Veterinary Medicine.  Dr Somer has a special interest in internal medicine and dermatology.  She shares her home with her lovable Yorkshire Terrier Teddy.

Technician

  • Kaylyn M , RVT, BBM


    Kaylyn graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical University with a Business Management Degree and then continued her studies graduating from Seneca College as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 1996.  She is a wife and mother of two wonderful children.  Kaylyn also shares her home with a beautiful standard poodle named Cari.

  • Kathleen , RVT


    Kathleen attended Centennial College in the Industrial Microbiology program for 2 years before completing the Veterinary Technician course at Seneca College where she graduated in 1999.  She has been working as a tech in Toronto ever since and joined the Westside team in October 2005.  Kathleen shares her home with her two boys, an Australian Shepherd named Riley, a ferret named Simon and a newly rescued turtle named Clumpy.  Kathleen has a special interest in animal behavior.

  • Lisa , RVT


    Before attending Seneca College to become a Veterinary Technician, Lisa graduated from George Brown College with a Diploma in Hotel Management.  Lisa became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2005 and has been working in Toronto since then.  She joined the Westside Team in March of 2007, and has fallen in love with our sweet girl Twizzle who posed with her for this picture.  Lisa shares her home with her husband and two cats Cally and Heff.

Reception

  • Sandra , BSc., RN


    Sandra is a Registered Nurse by trade but graces us with her presence every Thursday in our front office.  She has worked at Westside for 9 years and has one dog named Riley, and too many cats to list here.

  • Deborah


    Deborah works as an a receptionist at Westside.  She attended Fanshawe College for 4 years studying business and has been a business manager for many years.   She also works as an independant artist in Toronto.  Deborah came to Westside looking for a more rewarding work experience.  She is the owner of 3 cats, 1 Italian Spinone named Tess, and 1 Pug named Delilah.

  • Angela


    Angela took a year of nursing school before decided she would like to pursue a career in animal care.  She joined the Westside team in August 2007.  Angela hopes to become a Registed Veterinary Technician and has a special interest in feline behaviour.  She shares he home with her cat Smokey and her new addition, a kitten named Momo.

  • Cynthia


    Cynthia joined Westside in January of 2008. She is the proud owner of 2 rescued Guinea Pigs named Blackfoot and Mohawk. She also plays the cello and performs in the local area at various locations.


  • Dianne


    Dianne works at Westside on Saturdays, the rest of the week she works as a recptionist in a "Human Medical Office". She owns a multitude of Poodles, and grooms in her spare time!


Kennel

  • Jason


    Jason began volunteering at our clinic in December 2002.  We hired him shortly afterward because of his hard work and his love of animals.  See a close up of Jason's kitty Buu in our pet gallery.  Jason has recently graduated from The Toronto Art Institute of Design and Technology studying video game animation.

  • Natasha


    Initially persuing a career in early childhood education, Natasha has spent a considerable amount of time in the day care field.  However her career took a turn after she became a pet owner.  Since her new found passion Natasha has enthusiastically changed her career direction.  She looks forward to working with animals here at Westside.

  • Kyla


    Kyla just started as a kennel tech at Westside in January.  She comes to us with a beautiful persian named Mister Good Cat and a husky named Raquel.  Kyla will be starting school in September for Community and Justice Services in hopes to become a Jail Guard. Vetsuite_Img_39309
