IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

Routine Wellness testing is important for your pet. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE

In any emergency, seconds count. Our staff is backed up by all the equipment necessary in an emergency. We are equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. In addition, we use the services of a local, fully staffed emergency center.

SURGERY

We offer most surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: surgeon available for consultation; veterinary and technical staff, heated surgery tables for greater comfort; sterrilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important when maintaining the health of your pet's teeth. We use a sonic dental scaler to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. More serious dental problems, including extractions, fractures, and abcesses are also dealt with in our clinic.

INTERNAL MEDICINE
We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others.

RADIOGRAPHY

Radiography – or X-rays – helps our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. As of October 2006, Westside Animal Hospital has a digital radiography machine. This enables us to transfer X-rays to a computer disk for owners so they can take the disk with them if necessary.

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

BOARDING

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised walks for dogs 2-3 times a day to keep them happy and active.

EUTHANASIA SERVICES
Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery.

SPECIALISTS

Sometimes conditions arise that require veterinarians with specialized training. We are able to arrange referrals and have access to certified veterinary cardiologists, dermatologists, oncologists, neurologists and ophthalmologists.

SPECIALIZED SURGERY
We have access to veterinary surgeons that are able to perform eye surgeries, neurosurgeries and orthopedic surgical procedures.
ULTRASOUND
This non-invasive technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
